The secret to a thriving business is to design one that’s fulfilling + designed around your lifestyle. With fulfillment, we make sure it’s aligned with our soul’s purpose & the lifestyle part makes it harmonious, not too stressful. This is the most sustainable way to be motivated by our work while also having a life outside of it where we can rest, pursue other interests & find inspiration.
To find such fulfillment + balance, there are 3 pillars that one must create in any business: initiative, expansion & meaning. When these 3 are present, they create the perfect conditions for flow + synchronicity to happen ✨
Initiative
Similar to the vata dosha in ayurveda, initiative can be in excess (too many ideas, scatteredness) or in deficit (lack of inspiration). There are many ways to approach this – you can:
Seek out new creative influences, go on artist dates, try something new unrelated to work.
Just try something already! Pick an idea, commit to it for 1-2 weeks & see if that gives you energy / momentum.
Journal, reflect, take some time to know yourself honestly again.
Expansion
Growth is like the pitta dosha – we want a healthy medium between too little & too much so that our work is sustainable & we don’t burn out or get bored. Here are some ways to do this:
Increase your reach – share your content on multiple platforms, get featured, run ads.
Scale your operations, hire team members, simplify your product suite, write standard operating procedures (SOP), create one-to-many offers (group classes, digital products, write a book, etc.).
Stay grounded by tuning into your body, booking a massage, spending time in nature & connecting with loved ones.
Meaning
For a truly meaningful + prosperous business, we need the element of depth (kapha dosha) – why do we do all this, beyond the financial gain? Why is this your mission? Without depth, a business’ expansion will grow unchecked & become a heavy endeavor (financially, physically, mentally, emotionally & spiritually). Here’s how to prevent that:
Stay informed about the world’s great issues & remember that you’re part of the solution with your business – your intentions matter & you do have an impact.
Recognize that you’re always evolving, so check in periodically & ask yourself whether you’re still enjoying what you’re doing & who you’re doing it with.
Be genuinely generous by donating your time or a portion of your profits to causes that matter to you.
Flow + synchronicity
When the 3 pillars stand tall & are strong, we create the perfect conditions for the divine to intervene. Just like in ayurveda, each business’ constitution (or dosha blend) is different – keep your business’ essence pure & you’ll see it take on a life of its own.
As the CEO of your business, any healing, embodiment or mindset work you do will be transmitted to your team, your outreach & the opportunities you’ll attract. When you act from the premise that we’re all interconnected, competition falls away & we instantly raise our vibration.
